I sold my 1949 6107 fastback last year at Hershey in the Car Corral. I got a near record price for a fastback coupe even in a down economy (it may have been a record compared to known auction results in recent years once you back out auction fees). For me, it worked out very well. But lots of cars didn't sell. My car was pretty special and drew a crowd in the Car Corral, so my results are probably not typical.
If the car is a premium, must-have, high-quality car, Hershey might still be one of the better venues. I don't know for sure, but I'd be inclined to try it again.
