Getting down to the wire on finishing a full frame-off restoration of my '55 Coupe DeVille but have run into a bit of a problem on how to polish the egg crate grille. The openings are only about 2' by 1 1/2" so it is difficult to get a buffing wheel in there. Any ideas? I'm assuming some kind of soft felt bob is best but am having difficulty getting into the corners for an even polish.

Thx for any suggestions,

Hi,

here is the link to a forum where a friend which is restoring a '55 Cadillac has posted some pics done during cleaning the grill, in this way you would have best results I think. Hope it helps.

One way might be to make use of 2 cone-shaped pads that fit in a drill?  One for applying wax, the second for removing it.  That is how I do my sabre wheels.

Thx for the help on this subject, dis-assembling the grille looks like the way to go. Pics are great but my Italian is not so hot!
