My trim tag states style no 57-6267;  I have a series 62 convertible.  Shouldnt the Trim tage show 57-6267X ?

X denotes power windows I think.  I also thought they were standard, so I am not much help here.

According to the CLC Directory, the convertible body style number was 6267X from 1950 through 1958, and 6267 from 1959 through 1964.

In 1957, model 6267SX would denote an Eldorado Biarritz, but the Directory does not indicate that any other body style used the nuimber 6267 (without letters) in that year.

If in doubt, check with owners of other '57 Series 62 convertibles listed in the Directory and see what their data plates indicate.

thanks for the notes, after looking at several 57 convert tags, it seems the X needs to be there in 57.  Cheers,  Dave

G'day David, I wouldn't worry, if your tag has no X and it is the factory tag then it would still be correct. I have seen several mistakes, albeit more to do with bad placement of stamping rather than ommissions, on tags over the years. Nevertheless, no other model except the Biarritz has that code 6267. . . and your right all the Biarritzs I've seen have SX suffix.  Perhaps the tag stamping guy had just come back from smoko on a rainy Monday somtime 1957 and forgot where he was up to and left the X off.           Regards.
