The following eBay item is identified as a photo on an "old Cadillac Sedan".
I have not seen such a Cadillac yet. Is it really a Cadillac? If yes, please let me know the model year and type of it.

It's a bus body on a 1919 Cadillac chassis by C.P. Kimball of Chicago, IL. I remember seeing this Cadillac "bus" in unrestored condition, some 30 years ago, in a club magazine.  Someone apparently took on the arduous task of restoring it for it was advertized for sale in Hemmings Motor News (Internet site) in October, 2008 (see: www.cadillacdatabase.org/Dbas_txt/Drm02-19.htm).

Thank you for the answer.

I have not seen such a shape of hood on a Cadillac but it is explaining everything what you are saying.

In your database it is under 1915. Why would it be necessary to handcrank the engine then? I think, only the eBay seller gave this title to the photo.

What is the purpose of those "gas-cylinder look" objects front and rear?

Having seen the frontal shape of this car (I mean bus) I understand why pedestrian protection is so important nowadays.  :)

Guess one could start it via that crank anyway, say if the battery had gone flat. We had an Renault from 1962 that still had a crank wich came handy now and then :-)

I even think that the Russian built Vaz my wife used to own in the 80'is stillhad a crank in the booth/trunk :-)

Lovely picture!

The "gas cylinder" like objects are accessory shock absorbers, possibly Westinghouse.
