Hello All.......appreciate any help.

I have a 1961 cadillac that will not run.  It turns over, and will kick over, after quick start but then just cranks.  Plenty of gas in the tank.  It has petronix ignition and a new battery that were installed years ago.  The car just finished a journey on an enclosed carrier coast to coast.  The car drove great prior to the transport. Any insight appreciated.

That sounds like a dry carburetor.  Not getting enough fuel.

Check for a plugged fuel line or bad fuel pump.

I think Glen is right on. Sounds like you are getting ignition o.k Disconnect the fuel line and allow someone to crank the engine while you catch the fuel in a clear jar. Note how much fuel is streaming and this also allows you to inspect the fuel for debris and moister. Before you do that you could try pouring a small amount of fuel down the carb and see if it starts and runs on that. Art in TN.

Thanks for all of your help.  Gas gauge was off and the tank was in fact bone dry.  Car runs and looks great.
