#1 is TAN    #2 is Black

The top frame should be black if you have a #2.  It would be tan if you had a #1 and the frame would be tan.

These were the only 2 colors used in 48 and 49 6267X cars

Herman,

Do you know if the same Tan-1, Black -2 trim codes were used for 1946 & 7 ?

In checking the upholstery charts the 46 & 47 were tan or black as were the 48 & 49.  No other options were offered.  The top boots were also only Tan or Black with either tan or black binding.  Other colors did not appear for tops intil 1950.  The 46, 47, 48 all had brass pin moulding (chromed) for the front of the windshield bow, rear wood bow and beltline at rear of top at trunk.  Late 48 and all 49s had hidum binding at front windshield bow and the other 2 were again brass pin moulding.  I hope this helps with your question.  The brass pin moulding can be bought from Northfield forming in Ohio with lead filling and nails already set.  You would have to give them the length and once received you would have to form to car, drill holes and send out to be chromed.  The beltline piece is 63 inches long + or - and this gets the snap posts for the boot.

Herman,

Thanks for your reply. I was asking to confirm whether the same Trim Code designations (numbers) of 1 and 2 were also used for Tan and Black respectively in '46 & 7.

Thanks,
Ralph
