So how do I tighten the horn ring? Manual says there are two allen screws accessable behind the steering wheel but I don't see where. Anyone?

Dan,

They are tucked inside the horn ring cross member at an angle and at opposite corner, Fig 5-12 will show the approximate location below the cross member.

I'll add my 2 cents worth as I have had my steering wheel off so many times the threads are worn out! If you look on the backside of the steering wheel, where the allen set screws are there is a slight cutout indent in the plastic on opposite sides where the spokes originate. The allens are deep inset at those spots. Get a really bright flashlight and spot them first before you go digging around. I find that proper light is 90% of the battle. Especially with my old eyes. Once you find them, you'll say "Oh yeah. Now I know what they mean!" You'll need to get on your head and be a contortionist for a bit to see what I'm talking about.

I got under there Saturday afternoon with my allen wrench set & a small flashlight and in less than a minute I tightened them both, horn ring now to spec, thanks for the advice.

Now it's on to my second water pump in 5 months, looks like I was sold a bad rebuild. After that the hydramatic comes down for a redo and I will hopefully be ready for the season.
