I've got hellacious wind noise somewhere around the vent windows on both sides.  Anyone have this issue and know what to do about it?  As you look from front of the car, both vent frames stick out a bit from the windshield post.  I tried adjusting, but could not get them to tuck in.  I don't know that this is the problem, though.  First I will try taping over the gap between vent frame and post to see if it stops, then take it from there.
Thanks,
Charlie

Charlie,
Glad to see that I'm not the only one with wind noise coming in from the vent frame area....wish I had a dollar for every hour I've spent trying to remedy the problem. My driver's vent frame is sticking out big time and I've adjusted the door over and over again...not to mention the jury rigging of the seal(seals)that I've installed over and over again!.....walt...tulsa,ok

The wind noise may not directly come from the vent window but from the gap between the roof and the upper molding across the windshield. Put a piece of tape on the gap and test. I applied some transparent silicone on my '56 de Ville; I have the impression that it's better.

I received a message from another individual who provided a link to a Cadillac service bulletin covering the issue Roger mentions.  I'm going to check into that.
Thanks,

My '54 has the same issue.  There is a p/n for an additional seal in the "Serviceman" that I could NOT identify.  I'm pretty sure that an aftermarket soft seal would do the trick, if we only knew the correct profile....
Maybe someone from the "Cadill - Ikes" Chapter will see this string & chime in!

I guess it's "welcome to the club" day! My 56 is the same way, but prominently on the driver side.  It literally seem to scoop the air along that edge and whistle it in there. The vent frame does gap out a bit in that area and I've wedged stuffing in there just to see if it is the culprit. It is. I found that the door seal from Steele that I'm using that wraps all the way up the edge of the vent frame does not touch the window surround. Misses it by at least a quarter inch. When it warms up, I was going to try to find some flat stock rubber seal that is the same width as the door seal I have, remove the door seal at the vent frame, and put that "spacer" seal underneath that length, then reattaching the vent seal strip. My attempt will be to compress the seal of the vent frame into the (cowl?) window surround and close the gap. You guys will probably solve the situation before I get to mine but I'll keep you posted anyways as to the success I have. I'll be contacting Steele to see if they have what I need in terms of the "spacer" section I'm envisioning.   Chuck

I have the same wind noise issue with my 56 60S; replaced all door seals and front vent window seals with Steele Rubber Products and still get a draft (both sides) I can't figure out. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has a suggestion or a fix for this.   Mike
