Motorcycle fork oil is better than hydraulic jack oil, since it contains more anti-foam additive, and is compounded for continuos duty as shock fliud.  It is also available in two viscosities, so you can vary the shock rate by using the light or heavy version.  Go to any motorcycle  shop.  Paul Ayres. #5640
