Does anyone older than I remember where on the windshield were the wartime Federal Use Tax stamps stuck? I remember putting them on my parent's cars, but that was over 65 years ago and I’m having difficulty with yesterday.

Do you mean the gas rationing stickers?   I have a 1931 Chevrolet Taxi Cab with a bad area on the driver's side, so placed the sticker over that area.  :)  :)  :)

No, these were federal tax stamps to raise money during the war. $5 per year from 1942 thru 1944 & expired on June 30. They were prorated if bought other than at mid year. They had to be on the upper part of the windshield, but I don't remember exactly where.

I have the remnants of one pasted to the metal backing of my inside mirror, on a 39 Buick. Chicago.

The inside mirror was the wrong place. They were intended for the windshield because on the back are spaces for Make, Model, Engine No., State Tag No.

I had a 1937 buick and they were on the bottom outward side of the passenger windshield glass.
