There was a blue 53 Eldo at the Mecum auction in Monterey, Ca.
Did it sell?
How much?
Thanks, Bob

The info I got is that it sold and was the the highest priced car of the session at $223,000.  I think there is some commission to be paid by both the buyer and seller on top of that.  Add some local tax and you have a quarter of a million dollar '53 Caddy!  Wowser.

Hi Bob

Sold for $223,000 (plus commission I believe) and heading to Sydney! I was told that the it was a #2 or #3 car but the photos show it to look absolutely stunning.

Here is the link:

With this car, I count 4 x Azure Blue '53 Eldos calling Australia home :)

Regards, Ross.

Thanks guys.
I'd like to know if that price did in fact include the buyers fee or not.

Hi Yann, no I don't know but I'll ask around.

Bob, from what I have found out, $223,000 was the selling price.  The buyer pays an additional premium of 6 percent of the selling price (so in this case, the total cost was $236,380).  If over $7500, the seller pays 7 percent or 5 percent if no reserve.

Ross.
