Can someone assist in telling me the best way to adjust the latch so the Goddess remains up when lifted up the hood.  The jam nut came loose and now the Goddess keeps falling down when I raise the hood.  I also am having difficulty releasing the latch when I raise up the Goddess.  I am afraid I am going to break her or the linkage yet do not want to make change to the extent I need to worry about the hood remaining latched when driving.  Any and all help would be appreciated.  Thanks much.

I have a pdf file of the latch adjustment procedure as per Cadillac Service Bulletin that this site will not allow me to post, as it is too big:  3300KB.  The site won't accept a zipped version either.  If someone has a suggestion on how to shrink the file, I'd be happy to attempt to post it.

Brett,

thanks for your offer to post this document, I'm sure it will be of interest to many.  I have full versions of Acrobat, and will be happy to downsize the document and/or host it on one of my websites and place a link here.  If you email me the document I will turn it right around and get it posted for all to use:

I intend to install a remote hood latch on my 1942 because it seems that the godess and associated parts are too fragile for constant use. Mine were broken when I got the car and I have seem several other broken ones. It is difficult and expensive to replace these. Just my thoughts of course.
