I have a 41 coupe with  hydra-matic trans and the matching higher speed (economy) rear end.  Can someone tell me which pinion seal to get for it.  I've got the rear axel bearings, but I want to replace the pinion seal while I'm at it.
Thanks,
Ken

I think there were 2 different pinion seals used on those differentials which was not according to gear ratio or model year.  I suggest you call Olcar Bearing Company in NC 910-693-3324 and ask him how to tell which one you need.

On the other hand, if the pinion seal is not leaking I suggest you leave it alone.

If it is a cup seal then make sure you save the old one then I can send you the info on installing the new seal in the old cup seal housing... Most of these had the old cup seal.

But a Jay so eloquently said, if it don't leak down screw with it.
