1969cadillac

hello ! i have a 69 caddy deville that i have equipped with guidematic

i believe i have a problem with a defective eye - the unit worked a few times when i first installed it , but now does nothing!

the one i installed has 5958846 on the back of it and is a 4 wire one , wires :

green ( to driver control knob )

gray ( to foot switch )

light blue ( also to driver control )

yellow ( to power relay upper beam )

i have the opportunity to buy an NOS one that has the same number : 5958846 but only has 3 wires -  the wires are the same colors as above , but it doesnt have the yellow wire to the upper beam connection on the power relay !

my question is is this extra wire needed to make the unit work? or is another power relay needed / used - your thoughts please !
thankyou , Murray Mules
