Has anybody rebuilt their water pump using one of the kits supplied by Caddydaddy.?
I am trying to fit the seal supplied in the kit but it is different than the OEM seal.
When I try to fit the  original cast impeller the centre spigot fouls on the rubber bush in the seal
and won't allow the impeller to sit low enough in the housing The OEM seal was a larger diameter at this end and fitted around the spigot. The only way to make it fit is to take out the rubber bush in the end of the seal. Will this stop the seal from performing as it should. I did purchase a rebuild kit from Auto-pac (dragon up) which included a OEM seal but it got lost in the post between the USA and UK and he didn't want to give me a refund or replace it blaming me for the loss. Is there anybody else who sells an OEM seal that I know will fit correctly without having to modify anything.

Chris,

I rebuild the W/P on my ’56 with A/C from a kit purchase from an eBay vendor with no problems. There are two water pumps for the ’57 with and w/out A/C and the kits would also be specific for each pump type.

If memory serves right the shaft is different between the two types so the shafts are not interchangeable others could chime in.

Sorry no specifics so hope this helps.
