i need connecting rod bolts and caps for 1941 346 engine thanks very much john m sav ga

Dave Shepherd

Make sure to have the rods reconditioned when doing this or the caps/bolts will cause the big end to be out of round.

Just to enlarge on what Dave has said John, hes absolutely right, so I think it would be prudent to get the rod and the cap. I presume your engine has thrown a cap? or what?  and what number rod is it? I know thats not important technically speaking but it would be nice to keep all the numbers in sequence if you could.  I'm in England by the way. Steve

i dont have it out yet but its the back cylinder on passenger side

Steve Passmore

Thats number 8 then, and its an old problem with the cap nuts, you need to use a 3/8" drive six sided socket on these, too late for you now I guess.
