I want to replace the tail shaft housing bushings and seal in the transmission of my 63 CDV. One supplier has the gasket, seal and a bushing claimed to be about 3/4 of the length of the factory double bushings. Supplier indicates it should work just fine. I haven't had the opportunity to view the inside structure of the housing and I can not visualize the difference. I would like to have input from someone that has actually been there-done-that.

Would a bushing, 3/4 the length of the original double set, be sufficient support for the drive shaft yoke? I am chasing drive line vibration, the bushings are the only thing I have not replaced.

Thanks,
David

David, if the vibration is coming from the tail shaft bushings, I would buy two of them , do them shorter to have the same lenght as original.

Thank you, Roger. Good idea. It is one of the, "Well DUH"! moments, why didn't I think of that??!  :o

I'm still looking, If I don't have success finding the 2 originals, this is what I'll do.

Thanks,
David
