I'm going to an upholstery shop on Tuesday, but in the meantime, I've heard that it's VERY expensive to reupholster an 83 Eldo pillow top seat. Any ideas on this? How about if I use vinyl?

I had such seats redone several years ago, and don't remember it costing that much more.  They were seats out of a late-70's Oldsmobile I was putting into our 83 Impala (I was adding 60/40 power front seats).  They were cloth covered, but I'm not sure that made much difference.  I seem to remember paying around $400 for front and rear recover back in the late 80's.
