Need advice regarding the attachment components for the vacuum antenna.  Does this depend only on the fender nut at the top of the assembly, or is another bracket used at the foot of the tube ?

There is a brace. It could easily be duplicated or purchased from a Cadillac salvage yard. My first try would be Eddie Jones @ 612-558-2629 and there are others of course.  I would attach a picture but my car is a 1942 and it could be different because I know the fenders are different.
