Hi,
Is black the only color A/C compressors were painted in 1958?  I cleaned up the A/C compressor from my Fleetwood and removed some old "Remac Rebuilt" stickers.  Under the stickers (and everywhere else) the color is a dark gunmetal grey.  Anyone else seen this?  The car was last on the road in 1977....talk about a time warp!

Thanks,

I have not seen anything other than black.

Could the gunmetal gray be the bare metal?

Hi Jim,
I just checked, the gunmetal is definitely paint as I was able to sand some of it off and get to bare metal.  Could it have been painted this color after being rebuilt?

Thanks,
Garrett
