Helping out a friend, whose car has been stripped for restoration.  He has what he believes is a reverse light, and wonders where it might have been mounted, and if there was a backup switch somewhere on the car (steering column, transmission?)

If we can validate that the 47 and 48 models used the same backup setup, then I can help out with pictures, wiring etc,

Here is a picture as located on the 47. Marked on top of the light is Guide B 31. The back up light switch is located on the left of the transmission. The switch has an arm that is activated by a rod when the car is placed in reverse. The Delco number of the switch is 1997774 and my parts book shows that switch used from 40-51.  Bill
