I have a newly acquired 41 series 62 and need to change spark plugs. Currently has AC R44's. Dont seem to be able to locate plain R44's.  Plenty of variations R44N etc.  What is the proper plug and gap? Want ot keep original. THANKS

David,

Something is wrong...

1939 thru 1948 used 10mm plugs, AC M8 or Champion UY6.

1937 and 1938, and then 1949 up would have used the 14mm plugs like the 44 (R44 are resistor).

So you might have earlier heads or someone changed the thread sizes for the newer plugs.

You are correct. A friend who knows the history of the car has informed me the heads were changed or drilled out for some reason and now takes the larger plugs. Sorry to waste your time. I have a lot to learn about this great car.
Thank You
