I have a eight volt battery in my 1950 Cadillac which works fine. My question is if i need to charge it which do i charge it with? 6volt or 12 volt since no 8 volt on chargers? Thanks #16625

Battery Tender makes an 8 volt charger.  Available at Amazon.  $52.95.  http://www.amazon.com/Deltran-Corporation-021-0152-1-5a-Tendr/dp/B003D5I66E

First, get rid of that 8 volt battery, install a good group 2 size lead-acid battery, or a 6 volt optima.

Secondly, rewire, if necessary, the feed and ground straps from the battery to the starter, and have new bushings installed in the starter.

Third, get rid of that worthless 8 volt battery. The car was built to start with a 6 volt battery and charging system, and if the car's electrical system is in proper shape, it will start and run perfectly.
