im reassembling a 346 engine back in my 41 60 special. i have a full gasket set and was wondering if i should apply any permatex to anything ? thanks john

Boy, what a question.

There are multiple types of Permatex designed for different operations.

There are some gaskets, like Head Gaskets that require ONLY what the manufacturer of the Gasket stipulates.   In a lot of cases, nothing, but a good clean oil-free surface, and some like a spray of Copper-cote.

The Workshop Manual should give an ides of what to stick together.

But, as a starter, the Sump Gaskets are a candidate for an RVT sealant (Silicone) and water outlets, inlets are good for Non-hardening Sealant that is designed for compatibility with water.
