Hello,
Is there a trick or protocol for attaching the chains to the wiper arms and heads?  I would think that this is covered somewhere in a shop manual or tech article, but I've searched here and not found anything.  Does anyone have any pointers?  Also, I got some fender skirts a while back that were supposed to be for my 6227D coupe, but they're waaaaaay too long and must be for a sedan.  I've restored and painted them (gunmetal poly).  They are very nice.  If anybody needs a set for their sedan.  Please let me know.  I'll post pictures in the "for sale" area.
Thanks,

Photos help? One is kinda fuzzy but you can still get the idea. I was not able to find anything from Cadillac regarding procedures either, but they weren't hard to figure out. Make sure they pivot freely before crawling under the dash. VP

The chain is attached to the small gear, lowered into the transmission body and the wiper arm spindle with the spline pressed through. You have to be very careful as Iv seen the pot metal transmission housing break to pieces during this operation. Yes, Iv done it myself.  :(

Steve,
Thanks for those pictures.  You're right it's pretty simple, but myheads were rechromed and trying to get that chain connected on the roller inside the housing without taking all of that apart has been a challenge so far.  Also, I noticed from your pictures that I'm missing the U shaped clamp that holds the head to the cowl from the inside.  Hey, do you have any idea as to what fender skirts I have?  One of the guys here on the site sold a pair to me.  They had the emblems on them and were Antoinette blue and in very nice shape.  I just left them in the box when I got them as I wasn't ready to mess with them and didn't want to lose any parts.  I painted them and went to put them on the car and they're too long.  Do you think they'd go on a sedan, a 60 S or 75 perhaps?  They're about 37" long.  I have a picture of them in the "for sale" stuff here on the forum.
Thanks again.
