I want to refinish the headlamp doors on my '67 Eldorado, but I'm not sure how they were originally finished. Is the door one big casting, that's been polished, then had the black squares painted on? Or was it plated? Or was it assembled (I can't see any easy way to disassemble it).

If anyone has done this before, or has any ideas I'd like to hear them before I attack it with the wrong chemicals/machine/etc!

Thanks,

Antoni

I sold my 67 lamp doors but their painted black then the strips installed.
