Greetings. I am starting a 1955 Cadillac commercial chassis restoration and I am looking for help in locating parts. Cam lifters, timing chain gear set, oil and fuel pump. I'm also interested in locating shop that can work on the vehicle's transmission. And finally I need a new hood. The current hood is almost beyond repair. Thanks. BFarkas

It would help to know where you're located.  All engine parts including water, pump, fuel, pump, oil pump, dist. vac advance rebuild and gaskets can be reliably had from Terrill Machine outside of Dallas.  Also just outside of Dallas is a guy named Honest John.  He's a great guy.  I was in his yard last month and in his storage shed and he has sheet metal for 55's.  Complete internal engine rebuild kits are also all over e-Bay and Kanter, All Cads, and McVey's have them too.  As soon as I get this 41 finished I've been asked to start on two 55's...one is an Eldorado convertible.  Honest John and Terrill will be my first stops.

I can not help, other than to report that I just had dealings with Terrill Machine of TX.  It is a top-notch operation, doing what it said it would, when it said it would do it and at the price it said it would charge.  In my case, this was a rebuild of a distributor vacuum advance on my '55 CDV.

It gets my vote as a reliable/respectable supplier!
