My 2002 DTS which I bought new has over 91,000 miles.  Recently, there is this binding noise when I turn the steering wheel .  It has been diagnosed as bad bearings on the struts.  Is there any easy way of lubricating these surfaces without replacing them or taking them apart?

Tony. seems like is is a common issue on GM struts especially if exposed to NE winter use. You could get it up on a 2 post lift ,wheels hanging and try spraying a lubricant up into the uppper strut mount.

David:  Actually, this car has never been in snow.  It was in Florida the first two or three winters, and has been in the garage here in Saratoga all winter long since.  I will try it with the two position lift, and see if I can get some of that thick Australian steering gear lubricant in there.   I did not know if there was any access at all.  I will look.  Thank you for the tip.

Are you coming to the local Cadillac Club meet at the Gideon Putnam tomorrow?

Tony, no will be celebrating 50th anniversary!! Any thick agent may not penetrate the small space between the strut mount and bearing plate.
