Following in the tradition of celebrating a theme at the Annual Fall Car Show at Capitol Cadillac, this year’s theme will be Professional Pride, celebrating the long and storied history of Cadillac and LaSalle professional cars.  Specifically, Cadillac and LaSalle ambulances, combinations, flower cars, hearses and limousines from the model years 1902 thru present will be the honored cars at the show to be held on Sunday October 28th in Greenbelt, MD.

Every Cadillac and LaSalle Professional Car owner is encouraged to attend this very special show.  To celebrate the event, each registered owner will receive a commemorative dash plaque illustration by renowned artist Dan Reed (pictured below).  Also, each registered owner will be given a commemorative show program highlighting the history of Cadillac and LaSalle Professional Cars and featuring a description of each Professional Car pre-registered for the show.  In addition, the Professional Car owners will receive a framed certificate of appreciation for participating.  It is time for the Professional Car owners to take their place alongside the V-12 / V-16, Eldorado, LaSalle, Fleetwood, Capitol Cadillac Alumni Car and DeVille owners who have been featured at the Potomac Region’s past six theme-related fall car shows.

The judging will be done by the owners of the vehicles registered.  The registered owners will be able to judge cars in all classes, including their own, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be given to winning vehicles in each class, including three special classes for the Professional Cars.

Capitol Cadillac is an easy five minute drive from the Holiday Inn Greenbelt where rooms will be reserved for Friday thru Sunday at the special rate of $94/night (301-982-7000 â€" mention “Cadillac & LaSalle Club” when making reservation).  The Holiday Inn Greenbelt will also be the site for a dinner the night before the show hosted by past CLC President Richard Sills & Shelley Chadick.  If you plan to attend the dinner, please RSVP to Shelley at shelleychadick@yahoo.com or 717-368-4422.

Past theme show have celebrated V-12s / V-16s, Eldorados, LaSalles, Cadillac Dream Cars (only known time that both remaining 1953 Cadillac LeMans concept cars have been together at the same time), Capitol Cadillac Alumni Cars, Fleetwoods and DeVilles.  To see an example of how some of our theme shows have worked in the past, please visit:

The CLC Potomac Region is proud to announce that Gregg D. Merksamer, noted Professional Car Historian, will be the guest speaker at our Professional Pride event scheduled for Sunday October 28th.

GREGG D. MERKSAMER is a Warwick, New York resident who's spent twenty years serving as the Publicity Chair of the Professional Car Society, whose 1,100 members around the world have been dedicated since 1976 to the authentic preservation/restoration and general appreciation of the custom-bodied vehicles used in funeral, rescue and livery service; these include ambulances, hearses, flower cars, limousines, "first call" cars and "combination" coaches that can be quickly reconfigured by the owner to handle funerals or ambulance calls on an alternating basis.   Merksamer has also spent two decades covering current developments in the funeral coach and limousine building industry for the AMERICAN FUNERAL DIRECTOR and the National Funeral Directors Association magazine THE DIRECTOR.  He's also authored two books, "A History of the New York International Auto Show" that was published during the event's 2000 Centennial, and the 2004 Krause Publications title “Professional Cars: Ambulances, Hearses and Flower Cars.”
