Wiring 6 volt positive ground horns.

There are four wires coming through the firewall . I think one is a ground wire so I mounted this ground wire to the frame. There is one attachment on the little relay (?) marked with an "H" that I think is where I should attach the two horn leads. When I hooked one wire to the "can't read it" middle mount there were sparks so I did not fasten the wire. The other wire was mounted to the "S" on the little relay. Do you have a diagram for this six volt positive ground 1937 85 series horn system? And how do I trace these wires from its source to make sure I'm attaching the correct wires where they belong? Do these wires come directly from within the steering wheel horn button?
Thank you,

I have the diagram for that car, but unfortunately, it's out of my reach just now.

Owing to your "research" in circuitry, when you're tinkering with the horn relay and the horns (which don't care what the polarity is), don't tinker any further until you have a fire truck within reach, with a couple of fire personnel to help.\

The relay has three terminals on it. (this is from memory), but One should have a "B" (Battery), another: H (horns), and the third will have something like "S"....? (steering column).  Get a shop manual, and find out for certain just what you're hooking up. The relay has to be bolted to the car ground in order to work.

Here is a diagram of the horn ckt.

Thank you Doug and Glen. So, my "H" is the "D" in the diagram for the two horn leads. My middle connection on the relay must be an "B" for connecting the battery lead and could be the wire that sparked. My "S" should come from the steering wheel horn button. I believe the horn mounts are insulated so the horn grounds must be at the goosenecks within the two round ends of the horn mounting support brackets. But these will not be a tight fit so were these goosenecks also inslulated with rubber inserts within the round support brackets? If so, the horns will not be grounded. I note now that the entire horn mounting bar is insulated so I have attached the ground wire to the bottom of the relay as Doug mentioned.
Thank you.

The horns should not be insulated Ty, if they were they would require a second wire from each one to ground, their mounted on flexible brackets but its all metal for ground unless you have different ones fitted than on my car.
Picture the horns with a direct permanent power source from the battery broken only by the relay, your horn button grounds and operates just the relay and so completes the circuit to the horns.  You can study mine when you get here :D
