Does anyone know how to remove the freeze plug on the right side head (Front) of the 472?  It is backwards compared to the ones on the block.  Thanks.

If it is easy to get to, then you could use a large self-tapping screw and screw it in, and with a slide hammer, impact it out via the head of the said screw.

One question is, "How long has it been in there?"   If it has been a while, then it could possible stay there.

The mechanic that I took it to just told me that he thinks the cylinder head is cracked. He orginally thought it was the freezeplug.

Oh dear.   I would be getting another person to look at it and see what might be wrong.

Takes a lot to crack a Cylinder Head.    Actually, thinking back, I have never seen any cylinder head where the crack has protruded to the outside.   Cracks between valve seats and the combustion chambers, but not to the outside.

Could it be a weeping Head Gasket?
