Looking to put some gauges in my 70 deville convertible. I would at least like a temp, and voltmeter. You guys have any pics of getting this done tastefully? Don't want to just hang them off the bottom of the dash. Thanks guys!

Fact of the matter is that at the time that my '70 DeV Convertible was my everyday driver, I did just what you are asking about to it. I still have the car, and the instrumentation is still in it

At the time, I was also driving a '71 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser wagon, and had the identical stuff in it.

I bought the Stewart-Warner gauge sets for underdash mounting. They were lighted, so they were functional all of the time. I measured Volts, Amperes, engine vacuum, Oil pressure, and  engine temperature.

They were lots more than just a silly notion. For instance, if the system voltage dropped while I was driving, I knew that the generator belt was slipping, and not driving it. The voltmeter told if the alternator was putting out properly.

They were a bit of work to install, more because of the number of measuring points. In cars that I've had after the Olds.

It will all depend on just whose instruments you choose to install. I never felt that the S-W dash gauges looked heap, so they pleased me both for looks and for function.
