Can any one please tell me how the trunk light works in a '53 series 62 coupe? Mine doesn't work, the bulb is good and I can not find a switch to check any where in the trunk.

Aren't these operated by an internal Mercury Switch?

Yes, mercury switch betwwen the globe and wire. 1. Is lamp ok? 2.Sometimes a bad earth will be all that is wrong. Undo and retighten the ground screws. 3. Then test light on wire. Should be live. 4. Remove lamp and clean terminals on mercury switch and lamp.

I don't know about 53s, but some of the older models the trunk light comes off the tail lights feed and they have to be on.
