So I need parts for my 1967 Calais I've found a bunch of parts from 1968s I know the 429 was only from 65-67. So engine and transmissions are out. I know the grille is different. Will things like fender skirts swap between these years? I've heard the front bumper is the same. Any help would be appreciated

Skirts, yes, front bumper, probably, front fenders, maybe, climate control, yes (except 1 wire on the master unit). Headlight switch, no (PL change in 1968).

Hood, no, rear doors, yes, front doors, maybe. Interior was all different patterns, but the underpinnings were the same. Windows should all be the same. Outside mirrors, NO!

Front bumper is not exactly the same.  The lower center section and LOWER ends are same, but UPPER ends (flat pieces) and upper center section (smaller one) are different.

Fender skirts, passenger front door, and rear doors are the same.  Moldings are same.  Fenders are different, as mounting brackets for cornering lamps are different.

All climate control components are the same except blower relay. Some 68 models did have extra red wire on dash unit, but simply cut it off.  All that wire does is drive the system to full heat when in ICE.  Without the wire you can control the temperature in ICE.

Master window switch is different interior trim different.  Speedometer faceplate and needle, clock the same, rest of cluster is different.

Power window motors, power seat parts, neutral switch, turn signal switch the same.

Steering column and wheel the same.

Rims are different on 68 (for disc brakes option), but will work on 67.

Glass is the same, just varies  by model (pillared sedan, hardtop, etc.)

Emblems the same except trunk key cover (68 will work on 67 if you use 68 key cylinder), grille and trunk script.

Aha! so that's the difference on my master control units! I need to have the lo-auto switch replaced or repaired in my 68, and I have 2 spare master control units. It'll have to wait until i get home though...  :(

Tim, are you the one selling the Climate Control books at the 2012 GN? I bought one, and I think I have bought items from you on feebay, where my ID is pretty much the same as it is here. We isolated my problem to the lo-auto switch but i had no time to get it fixed before I had to ship out again.

Yes,

I was selling the troubleshooting manuals at the GN last year.  Hope the manual helped you.  Tim

It did. I now know the fault is in the lo-auto switch. I don't know if they can be repaired, but i do have two spare master control units.
