39 coupe door lock

The last time I closed the door, it did not latch. The door handle still has spring to it, but the slide that locks the door stays retracted. I can pull it out, but it seems as though something is broken.
Is there a different spring for the latch than the return spring for the handle?
I don't have my parts book or the service book here in Florida and would like to buy whatever I need to fix it before we go back to Indiana where the car is.
Can anyone shed some light on this subject?

Theres another spring within the mechanism Lou that slides the bolt back out. I haven't seen them for sale but they must be out there somewhere.
