1957 eldorado biarritz vent windows

I have the vent window housings out my biarritz that hold the glass. The one out of the passenger side has a strip on the top outside about 3 inches long and 1/4 inch wide held on by 3 rivets. It looks factory. The other side doesnt have it but part #s are the same. Does anyone know of this or what should be. Thanks. F. Johnson. E-mail is fjoh432email addresses not permitted
