Just wondering if the 1959 390 Q-code tri-power engine is any different or worth more than a standard 390 with tri-power? . Are the heads any different, or the block? Is the extra HP just from the carbs?  Thanks,,I wait for answers

I don't know about any internal differences but the distributor is different, the coil mount is different, and my 1960 Salesman's data book also says the rear gear ratio is different too.

If the car was factory equipped with Tri-Power the engine has the Q designation.  Otherwise it's been bolted on a standard 390.
For someone with an Eldorado that has an incorrect engine, a Q block would be a real find.
