I know this is the home of the 100% original Caddy/La Salle world. BUT this car had been street rodded before I got it and had a tornado drop the garage roof on it. the photo link shows the transformation from crushed to convertible via a Carson top we did lots of reinforcement in the body and the top is now upholstered in Haatrz cloth with a mohair headliner. Car is now in the paint booth. ready to return to black. upgrading carpet with Wilton wool in black new chrome column getting rid of a lot of the red painting the dash black etc. Just hought I'd share

Hello Mr. Fernandez

That tornado was disastrous to your 1939 LaSalle 5027 CPE.

You did a fabulous job transforming that car into an open vehicle. Please bring your automobile to the 2013 CLC Grand National in Boston next summer.
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.

Wow Don, thats a hell of a save. Looking really nice. Hope you post the finished shots of it.
I think it will look better than before.

That's cool and at the end of it you'll have a convertible. Could you post details and pictures of how the top will attach to the car?

Here are some further photos of the car showing the latches for the top, per your request.

The latches are Perko Marine stainless steel chromed. The whole car shakes when you move the Carson top

I think the car will be beautiful with the Carson top.  Best of both worlds.

Given the damage to the car, I think you did a great job on rebuilding the car.

Please keep posting pics.  Beautiful interior by the way.
