1940 LaSalle or Cadillac Convertible Coupe Original Car

Does anyone know of or have a 40 LaSalle or Cadillac convertible coupe that still has an original interior in it.  I would sure like to get some pictures of some of the details.  An alternative is if someone even has pictures of an original interior.  In 1940 the interior for the convertibles were identical for the LaSalle and Cadillac.

Hello Brad

Good to hear from you.

We have a CLC member named Fred Zwikker who purchased a 1939 LaSalle 5067 in number 3 condition. He restored the vehicle to numero uno using his companies fabulous tools. He posted ALL of the pictures. His email address is fzoldcars@comcast.net.

The 1940 LaSalle 52 and Cadillac 62 series interiors were different. I hope this helps.
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.

I should have been a little clearer.  I am looking for 1940 52 or 62 series convertible coupe originals.  These do have identical interiors I believe except for the horn button and emblem below the radio speaker grille.

Gregg,

Thanks for responding to my request.  Like Steve said there are big difference between the interiors but I think there are still some details I am interested in that did not change.  I will be in touch but if the system breaks down my direct email is brad (at) ipsengarage (dot) com.

I don't know if you've seen this. http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Cadillac/1940_LaSalle_VVI.pdf there are black and white interior pictures and tons of info.

Most of those pictures are for the sedan Joe but there is one I see there for the convertible.  Brad, if it helps you at all I kept a good photographic record when I restored my 41 convertible and copied the original in all but the back seat design.  If there's anything about the 41 that can help you let me know.
