The alternator on my 97 is making a squeaking noise. Replaced belt, pulley, tensioner. They were also squeaking by the way. Now it’s the alternator.
I was thinking it would be great to have it rebuilt. Maybe with stronger bearings than the OEM ones. Is that possible?
Usually I just buy rebuilt alternators, but in this case the job to remove it is so tough, I don’t EVER want to do it again.

Where would I be able to do that? Any idea the cost?

I'm not familiar with a 97.  But I replace my alt front bearing every 60,000 miles
(and inspect the brushes).  Not expensive, if the alt comes apart OK.  I expect to
replace the brushes every other time, and maybe the rear bearing.  Bruce Roe

Rockauto.com shows a new Delco  3351049  for under $140.00.

It's a bear to get to, did the one on my 99 Eldo.  Your car will not have oil cooler lines to deal with so it's a bit easier.  Got to get it on a lift or on jacks, remove right front wheel and inner shroud and go at it.  Not fun.

Saw that. Not sure what the difference between the different Delco alternators are, if any.
