Ok, I have a very stupid problem here.
My 78 Eldorado still has the factory alarm. When you shut down the car, the “security” light flickers. That’s not the issue. The issue is that this thing still works. Last night I locked the car doors when I went to the gym. Came back and put my gym bag in the trunk, and boom. Alarm goes off.
I tried starting the car. Starts up just fine, but alarm just did not switch off. I had to resort to using the battery disconnect.
So HOW do I switch off the alarm ?

Simply unlock the drivers door with the key.
If that doesn't disarm the system you have a wiring problem somewhere.
