Is there a way to find your cars history? I have a 58 fw imported to sweden in 97 and it has a lot of signs that it might have been a police car or some kind of government vehicle. Seems a bit unlikely tough that such an expensive model was used for this. J Aspén

The information that Jay has recommended above is excellent. It's the invoice from the factory to the distributor, but not  necessarily the actual dealer who sold the car.

I understand that, on rare occasions, the original owner's name will be on the invoice, but I've never seen one. Tracing the ownership of an automobile is "the impossible dream" after all of the years it has been around. I have the invoices for all of my Cadillacs, and they are interesting. There are two of my cars where I did know who the original owner was, but the rest of them are just cars that I found for sale somewhere.

Nice idea, but nothing to expect much from.

I've known about this for a while, but there's that little note: Record sheets are NOT available for 1968.

when i wrote a few years ago, I was told they were lost or couldn't be found when the Clark st facility was closed out.

I guess that means nothing for us 1968 owners.  :(
