Hi - apparently the side molding retainer on my car had failed so I ordered a new one. The one I got is "the other one", the wrong retainer. They tried to order the correct one and were told that GM does not carry that one anymore. Go figure !!!   The incorrect one was part # 10277569 12118f retainer n115g......  Does anyone have a lead as to where I might be able to get the correct one? As always any help is appreciated. Thanks

Try your local recycling yard, aka junk-yard. They should have these readily available.

Thanks Mike - suddenly -today- the shop (Cadillac dealer) that I work at part time, thinks they can get the retainer --- so I have re-ordered. We'll see how that goes. If it's a no go then the next step is the local "rest home" to see if I can locate one. Thanks again.

A beautiful Cadillac but some of the parts were not built to last. My favorite are the "chrome - look" trim on the upper portion of the front and rear fenders. They started to bubble up when the cars were only a few years old and no one reproduces them. As far as your molding retainers I have had success in finding replacements for my Fleetwood through a great Cadillac parts man and his ability to check with other dealerships for what are often "discontinued" parts. Hopefully your dealership can help you. Another alternative to the auto recyclers (salvage yard) is EBay where these parts show up from time to time. Best of Luck. - Greg
