:)))

Hopefully this time everything works out...
here are the answers to questions asked about the link (http://www.classiccarchina.org/2012/show.php?contentid=296) in my previous post and pictures of Cadillacs in China are in the attachment. Hope you enjoy :)

-   Indeed, the stickers on the rally car are: the car number in the competition and sponsor advertisement. It is a rule of the event that stickers provided by the organizers must be accepted by all participants. However, the big ones are magnets…of course they don’t want to ruin those precious cars!!!

-   Owning a classic car in China is quite complicate right now because foreign classic cars cannot be imported; they can only enter the country for a short period of time to participate in events like shows, exhibitions, competitions and so on. This is why it is so special to take part in a drive across China by classic car…there are not many people who can do it!

-   I am sorry some of you had problems with the link. The website platform is Chinese and it is possible that it works a little bit slowly abroad. You may have to be patient and wait for it to finish uploading.
Also, try to see if this works better:

Yes it worked this time. Nice pics, and Cadillac is included. Is that a rear shot of a 54? Anyone?
Wow, who knew you couldn't buy classics in China. Probably only for the ruling class of folks. Was there any type of problems traversing thru the country? Fuel? regulations? etc. The streets look narrow kinda like Pittsburgh. Hehe.

Good :)

There were no problems actually; the route is planned so that fuel station are available whenever needed and they have good quality fuel now in China. As for the regulations, all the vehicles get a special permit for this event so it's ok. The organisers have good knowledge of Chinese policies so they know how to deal with it.

Check this website in case you're interested - there's a new edition of the rally this year!

Hi Michela

Thanks for your posts!  Do you know if classic cars, in the future, will be able to be imported into China?  Seems a strange one - new cars can be imported can't they so why the ban on classic cars?

The Peking to Paris Motor Challenge would be another very interesting car run! And it's right now I see.

Regards, Ross.

Hey Ross!
Yes, I know the Peking to Paris and, yes again, it is happening these days. It is quite a different target from Classic Cars Challenge China (4C) - http://www.classiccarchina.org/2012/ - that runs exclusively on the Chinese territory.

From the way things look now, it is very possible that classic cars will be allowed to enter China more or less freely in the near future. Chinese collectors show an ever greater interest in foreign classic cars and they are making some pressure in order to become able to buy them and bring them close to home. Also, there are many foreigners who moved to China and would like their classics to follow...so you see, things are bound to change sooner or later!

Have you ever been to China??
