Hi all, may be a stupid question??

I just purchased and received the rubber spark plug wire locators/seperators that fit into the rockercover brackets, however the holes are soli - ie no split to open and put over the leads?
There is no way the rubber is pliable enough to allow the ends of the leads through, so is the done thiing just to slit the underneath with a blade??

As I say this may be the way to go and be a sill question :)

Not a stupid question at all...

I discovered the same thing when I bought mine. No way to get them to work unless you cut slits for the wires. Then, I installed mine with the slits at the bottom - against the metal mount on the valve cover - so the uncut side is visible on top.

Same experience here when I received a pair for the '59. Simply made a neat splice above each of the holes. Worked perfectly.

It's not strange at all.  When these rubber separators are molded, they are not
cut.

I had the same issue with my '55 when I replaced my ignition wire rubbers.  Use
a cutting tool that makes a neat, clean cut (I used a cutting wheel on a Dremel, but
lots of other things will work.)  Then you're in business.
