I lost and fortunately found this plug this morning while adding oil to my Bendix Treddle-Vac.  Nobody (including Ed Sprain) has these plugs.  They should be commonplace 1/4" neoprene plugs.  Anyone have any sources?  The plug says "OIL" and "6."  MARKINGS ARE NOT IMPORTANT.

I know I've seen these things somewhere - just can't remember where.

Hmmmmm - Gas door stoppers on newer cars!

Duh.  I have had my 58 for almost 30 years.  You have to add oil to the power brake unit?

Yes - The Shop Manual tells you too - it lubricates the leather on the booster.

The car and the shop manual are in Florida.  Where is the little plug?  I don't remember seeing it.

It's on the very top of the booster (Black round cylinder) on the driver's fender side.  The oil keeps the leather flexible and air tight and provided the lubrication for the pedal to return quickly after application.  Shop Manual says to inject 1 ounce of shock absorber fluid once a year . . . I use 10W oil and add only 10 drops periodically.  Hope this helps!
