I have a friend with  a beautiful 1942 Cadillac that is highly modified including Air conditioning OHV V-8 power windows and seats and so forth,  and he has a crack in the lens of his stock clock

Please do not shudder at the modified part of it he bought it that way and is considering selling is and getting a bone stock car.

There is no realistic way to change the lens from the behind so I wonder if anybody has an idea how to fix this.

The clock for 42 looks different but may have a similar principle behind it as in 41. I still have my 41 clock and bezel out and can take phs or whatever if you think it will help. Let me knw if you want any of the 41 info. If the glass is domed as in 41, finding that part may be a big part of challenge.

A good resource may be Steve Cooley Restorations in FL   Steve has both a parts biz and s restoring a gorgeous 42 for himself.
