great looking car! I love the weird combinations of different year lights on it!

Those high headroom "Rescuer" type Ambulances were very rare even when new.   And when you consider that Eureka was the smaller of several coachbuilders to choose from, this could be just one of two or three made.

R Schroeder

First one that I ever seen like that.
Looks like 58 Pontiac lights on the top, with 59 Cadillac lights on the rear.
Very different.

Makes me wonder how it was sitting to get most of the rust on just one side.  It is pretty neat.
73 Eldo convert w/FiTech EFI, over 30 years of ownership and counting
Somewhat recently deceased daily drivers, 80 Eldo Diesel & 90 CDV
And other assorted stuff I keep buying for some reason

Nice!  It probably sat outside on the west side of a garage for an extended period of time.  The heat-cycling weathered and cracked the paint.  That would be my guess.

I often wondered why they used the 59-60 dashes and windshields on the commercial vehicles during '61 and 62?  Perhaps available materials?  Structural integrity?  I recall the '48 limos were 47-bodied, so maybe a cheaper conversion?  Doug

It's amazing that all of those trim pieces are still on that car!
