MY 59

Hey all,
reassembling my 390 ATM, and cant find much info on aligning the timing gears?
Assume it is just like all of the ford V8's I have rebuilt and it is just a case of aligning the dots on the 2 gears??
If this is incorrect please let me know :)
other than that the rebuild is going GREAT! :) and I cant wait to put the motor back in and (eventually!) turn the key :)

Thanks guys

G'day David,

The position is point to point, as in dot to dot.   Crank gear dot up, and cam gear, dot down.

Haha, I knew I could rely on you Bruce :)

I was pretty sure that would be the case, but my brother mentioned that 1 or 2 YE OLDE motors he has rebuilt (that is his profession) were like - 12 teeth clockwise- or similar, and as I dont have that part of the shop manual I wanted to check first

thanks mate
