G'day all,

A friend here has a '67 with a useless power closing cylinder, in that it has lost all its' dampening gas, and is therefore after a replacement.

My '72 Eldo has this feature, and we were wondering as to what years we can look for to get a replacement.

Thanks,

Bruce. >:D

It was the same cylinder from around 1962 through 73.  When those cylinders go bad sometimes the trunk snaps shut!  Hard to find a good one anymore.  Wonder if one could get them rebuilt.

Thanks Tim,

I thought about refilling it as one does when rebuilding the normal Gas Struts, but for the gas to have leaked out, there is no guarantee that the seal hasn't been compromised after being empty for so long.

Now for finding one that works.
